N4 lets you visually scan the yard positions of containers in the Units view (on page 1). With containers selected in the Units view, you can display the current position of containers in the yard in a single view, the Scan Selected Units view, even if containers are in different yard blocks.
Depending on how many units you selected, the Scan Selected Units view shows one or more yard sections. Each section shows a cross-section view of side-by-side stacks. For details, see View multiple yard sections.
To be able to access this view, you need the Allow user to scan yard positions of selected units privilege.
To scan a yard position:
In the Units view, select one or more containers and click Actions View Scan Yard Position.
The Scan Selected Units view opens.
Notes
N4 can only scan yard positions if yard model and inventory are synchronized.
If you scan a unit and the unit's position gets updated in XPS, this change is not carried over to N4. For this to happen, you must restart the N4 services in the cluster, restart N4, and then select the same unit.
